World Resources Institute: Circular Food Systems for Rwanda
Project Objective
To create a brand-new website showcasing the World Resources Institute: Circular Food Systems for Rwanda initiative, a three-year program (2021-2024) that aims to transform Rwanda’s food system to make it more circular and sustainable. Through the program, a development fund provides technical assistance to enable SMEs to adopt or scale-up circular business model while supplementary efforts support an enabling policy environment to drive the transition. The freshly crafted website serves as a source of information about the fund, facilitates applications for the fund, and provides a platform for sharing updates, success stories, events, learnings and more from the project in the form of case studies and downloadable resources.
3Lane Approach
Due to the newness and evolving nature of the Circular Food Systems for Rwanda initiative, which is composed of team members from around the world, 3Lane played an active consultant role to guide and shape the project from perspectives of visual design, technology, and strategies for future phases as the platform grows. The project has already conducted two phases of roll-out as of spring 2023, with additional phases planned. The site is built on a Drupal 9 CMS and integrates with Pardot and Salesforce CRM. This project utilizes manual translations to ensure maximum user engagement from Rwanda in Kinyarwanda, and a multi-step, media-rich application form integrated with custom download features and alerts.
Technical accessibility and performance was a key project priority, due to the location of key audience segments in Rwanda.
